In the 70's, studio musicians were called upon to take part in a recording because they contributed imaginative and creative parts above and beyond the call of duty. Certainly because I had successfully created and arranged my own guitar parts in some of these recordings, I ended up getting hired to produce entire song arrangements.
Jean-Michel Caradec (folk) gave me my first real break in 1978, more recently Antidote (rap) and Ralph Thamar (Carabean). In between there have also been Philippe Lavil, Patricia Kaas, Bécaud, Fugain, Rivers...over 500 tracks arranged and/or produced to date.
